Alcohol and drug testing in the workplace

In some professions, the Occupational Health and Safety Act requires employees to be free from alcohol and drugs as it can affect both safety and their ability to perform their job. This applies to occupations with special requirements for freedom from alcohol and drugs at work or with mandatory abstinence requirements.

At Doctors in Denmark, we offer unannounced alcohol and drug testing and related services and products at workplaces or at one of our clinics. Our goal is to support companies in ensuring a safe and productive work environment by identifying and managing substance abuse issues among employees in a professional and discreet manner.

We offer lead blood tests

In certain occupations, there is a risk of lead poisoning, especially when working with lead-containing materials. This can be the case for employees working in old buildings that may have lead-based paint or in industries that use lead in production - such as in ammunition or in glass and jewelry manufacturing.

Early detection prevents health damage

To ensure employee health and compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, regular lead blood tests may be necessary. At Doctors in Denmark, we offer lead blood tests to help identify elevated lead levels in employees who may be exposed to lead in their workplace. Early detection and treatment can minimize the risk of health damage and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.

Most common diagnostic tests

Pulmonary Function Examination (LFU)

A lung function test (LFU) measures how well the lungs are working and is important to:

  • Diagnosing lung diseases : Asthma, COPD and other respiratory disorders
  • Monitor lung health : Especially for employees exposed to dust, chemicals or smoke
  • Evaluating treatment effectiveness : Assessing whether medications or therapies are working

LFU is essential to ensure that employees have the necessary lung capacity for their work tasks.

CRP blood test (finger prick - result in 2 min)

CRP (C-reactive protein) is a marker of inflammation in the body. Our quick finger prick test provides results in just 2 minutes and can:

  • Differentiate between bacterial and viral infections
  • Assess the severity of an inflammation
  • Help decide the need for antibiotics

This rapid assessment can minimize unnecessary use of antibiotics and promote faster recovery.

Blood percentage blood test (finger prick - result in 2 min)

A blood percentage test measures the level of hemoglobin in the blood, which is important to:

  • Diagnosing Anemia (Blood Deficiency)
  • Evaluate oxygen transport in the body
  • Identify nutritional deficiencies

Results in 2 minutes mean any issues can be addressed immediately, improving employee energy and productivity.

Comprehensive blood tests

We perform all types of blood tests to assess various health parameters:

  • Blood sugar : Screening for diabetes and blood sugar control
  • Cholesterol and lipid profile : Assessment of heart disease risk
  • Liver and kidney function tests : Monitoring of organ function
  • Vitamin and Mineral Levels : Identification of deficiencies that may affect health and performance
  • Hormonal analyses : Evaluation of thyroid, stress hormones and reproductive hormones
  • Markers of infection : Detection of hepatitis, HIV and other infections by appointment and with full confidentiality

By having access to comprehensive blood tests, you can proactively monitor your employees' health and implement preventive measures.

Urine test

Urine tests are a versatile diagnostic method that can detect:

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Diabetes and metabolic disorders
