Alcohol and drug testing in the workplace
In some professions, the Working Environment Act requires employees to be free from alcohol and drugs, as it can affect both safety and their ability to perform the job. This applies to professions with special requirements for freedom from alcohol and drugs at work or with requirements for mandatory abstinence.
At Doctors in Denmark, we offer unannounced alcohol and drug tests, as well as related services and products in workplaces or at one of our clinics. Our goal is to support companies in ensuring a safe and productive work environment by identifying and managing substance abuse problems among employees in a professional and discreet manner.
We offer lead blood tests
In certain professions, there is a risk of lead poisoning, especially in connection with working with lead-containing materials. This may be the case for employees who work in old buildings where there may be lead-containing paint or in industries that use lead in production - such as in ammunition or in glass and jewelry making.
Early detection prevents damage to your health
To ensure employee health and compliance with the Working Environment Act, regular lead blood tests may be necessary. At Doctors in Denmark, we offer lead blood tests that help identify elevated lead levels in employees who may be exposed to lead in their workplace. Early detection and treatment can minimize the risk of health damage and contribute to a safe and healthy working environment.
Health examination when working with asbestos
For employees who work with asbestos, it is a legal requirement to offer a health examination focusing on asbestos. Asbestos is a harmful material that can cause serious diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma if the employee is exposed to asbestos dust over time.
At Doctors Denmark, we offer on-site health examinations so employees can have their health assessed without having to spend time on transportation. The examination includes a medical examination, assessment of previous exposure, advice on prevention and documentation that meets the requirements of the Danish Working Environment Authority.
Most common diagnostic tests
A lung function test (PFT) measures how well your lungs are working and is important for:
- Diagnose lung diseases: Asthma, COPD and other respiratory disorders
- Monitor lung health: Especially for employees exposed to dust, chemicals or smoke
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness: Assess whether medications or therapies are working
PFT is essential to ensure that employees have the necessary lung capacity for their work tasks.
CRP (C-reactive protein) is a marker for inflammation in the body. Our rapid finger prick test provides results in just 2 minutes and can:
- Distinguish between bacterial and viral infections
- Assess the severity of an inflammation
- Help decide on the need for antibiotics
This quick assessment can minimize unnecessary antibiotic use and promote faster recovery.
A blood percentage test measures the hemoglobin level in the blood, which is important to:
- Diagnose anemia (iron deficiency)
- Evaluate oxygen transport in the body
- Identify nutritional deficiencies
Results in 2 minutes mean that any problems can be addressed immediately, improving employee energy and productivity.
We perform all types of blood tests to assess various health parameters:
- Blood sugar: Screening for diabetes and blood sugar control
- Cholesterol and lipid profile: Assessment of heart disease risk
- Liver and kidney function test: Monitoring of organ function
- Vitamin and mineral levels: Identification of deficiencies that can affect health and performance.
- Hormonal analyses: Evaluation of thyroid, stress hormones and reproductive hormones
- Infection markers: Detection of hepatitis, HIV and other infections by appointment and with complete confidentiality
By having access to comprehensive blood tests, you can proactively monitor your employees' health and implement preventive measures.
Urine samples are a versatile diagnostic method that can detect:
- Urinary tract infections
- Kidney diseases
- Diabetes and metabolic disorders
- Substance abuse
A simple urine sample can provide valuable insight into an employee's health and help with early intervention.
