What the examination includes

The doctor performs a thorough review of the child's health, including growth, motor development, senses, and general well-being. There is also a focus on any concerns you may have as a parent.

Physical examination and measurements

The child's height, weight, and head circumference are measured. In addition, the heart, lungs, stomach, reflexes, and muscle function are assessed to ensure healthy development.

Conversation about well-being and development

The doctor will talk to both the child and parents about sleep, diet, motor skills, language development, and social skills to ensure a comprehensive assessment.

Vaccinations and prevention

If relevant, the child's vaccination status will be reviewed, and guidance will be given on recommended preventive measures, such as diet, exercise, and mental well-being.

When should you book a children's examination?

It is recommended to have a child examination performed at fixed age intervals, but also if you have concerns about your child's well-being, development or health.
