Thøger Persson Krogh

Specialist in sports medicine

This is where Thøger Persson Krogh works

33 Fjeldgårdsvej,
9750 Østervrå

I am a board-certified rheumatologist, an associate professor, and a Ph.D., and I specialize in sports medicine and musculoskeletal disorders.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in both the hospital setting and international elite sports. For more than a decade, I have served as a physician for Team Denmark and the men’s and women’s national teams, working closely with some of the country’s top athletes, both in their day-to-day training and at major international tournaments such as the European Football Championship, the World Cup, and the Olympic Games.

At the same time, as a senior consultant, I have helped establish the Sports Medicine Center—a multidisciplinary sports medicine facility in North Jutland focused on treatment, prevention, and helping people return to an active lifestyle, regardless of their level of activity.

My professional approach is grounded in research. I hold a Ph.D. and take an evidence-based approach to the diagnosis and treatment of overuse injuries, with particular expertise in the use of ultrasound for precise assessment and targeted treatment.

My strength lies in my understanding of what it takes to compete at the elite level, combined with a holistic view of the individual, where I consider each person in their full context to understand the underlying causes of any problems or injuries that have arisen.
